Snark needed: Shopping List for Reality

Fri Dec 22, 2006 at 02:32:10 AM PDT

While our troops are not with their families for the holidays, our Pretzel-choker/Deciderer-in-Chief wants to increase the number of troops in Iraq.  No worries from him this holiday season, his family is safe.  No sacrifice for him.  His words of encouragement at his final lie-fest (press conference) for 2006, "Go Shopping".  I want to see what you all have to say about this!  What would you buy if it was possible?

Bipartisan Shrub?!?!

Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 01:59:49 PM PDT

I felt compelled to write about the hidden messages that were sent out in Shrubs press conference yesterday, while still licking his fresh wounds.  Here is my attempt to lift the veil on shrub's press conference.  In order to see through the rhetorical BS.  Come with me.

Joemenum!?!?

It is interesting how history seems to repeat itself.  Eighteen years ago Old Joe was beating the same drum that Ned Lamont is now beating (the Connecticut Senator seat).

...the guy Lieberman beat in 1988 in his first U.S. Senate victory was also a longtime incumbent whose political career was tied to his popularity with independents.

That fellow was Lowell P. Weicker Jr., and one of the interesting aspects of this year's race is comparing Lieberman now to Weicker back then.

Weicker was then a Republican seeking a fourth term in the U.S. Senate -- just as Lieberman is seeking a fourth term.

Neocron Apology?

Thu Aug 24, 2006 at 01:30:28 PM PDT

This is my first attempt at a diary but here goes:

'Senator Allen apologized,' said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino
. 'And I think it's in everyone's best interest, in this day and age of politics when everyone is trying to improve the tone and discourse, to accept apologies when they're offered.'

I assume that we must accept any old apology these days.  I am wondering which of George Allen's -apologies-  excuses must we accept...
