Gov. Mark Warner being considered for VP!! (VP POLL)

From the Politico's Playbook Special - Veepstakes Tip Sheet:
— Columnist Robert D. Novak this weekend: "Former Virginia Gov. Mark WARNER, a strong favorite to be elected to the Senate this year, has told associates that he is being considered as Barack Obama's vice presidential running mate. He did not indicate whether he would be receptive to such an offer. Removing Warner from the campaign for the seat now held by retiring Republican Sen. John Warner (no relation) would turn a sure Democratic takeover to a question mark. Mark Warner is heavily favored against the [likely] Republican nominee, former Gov. Jim Gilmore, but no substitute Democratic candidate is at hand."
More after the flip.
First let me just say how frustrating it has been to see diary after diary, poll after poll, completely ignoring this guy as a selection for VP while we talk about lesser candidates like current Governor of Virginia Tim Kaine et al.
This guy has always been at the top of the list as far as I'm concerned and it has been confirmed to me a number of times that he was being considered and his run for Senate was not taking him off the table. How did I know this?
Second, I've learned anything this primary season its that if Jerome Assclown of myDD says something is true you reverse it.
Third, I think the Senate map is not going to yield us nine additional pickups so we are probably going to max out at 57 (Picking up NM, CO, VA, and NH for sure and likely adding two or three from AK, OR, NC, MS, and MN).
While I think we will force them tne o spend money in TX (Great candidate), KY (Self funder), and NE (Netroots hero) I just dont think we get to 60 but 2010 is an entirely different story.
So the worst case scenario here is we give 57 seats to an Obama Presidency versus 58 but i would argue that's not entirely the case.
I think if Warner drops out we could see us fall back 6-7 points but with Rep. Jim Moran or Creigh Deeds i think we still win that seat - my money is on Moran.
While you can make a number of arguments for all kinds of people and strategies there is no more powerful ticket that represents change and outside the beltway leadership and proven success than an Obama-Warner ticket.
I can see the argument that we've got to win over the women's vote and add Sebelius (Who is my second pick) or a McCaskill or we've got to placate the Clinton loyalists by adding a Clark (Sorry but as a Clarkie I have to tell him to go pound sand after questioning Obama's qualifiacations to be CINC), Bayh (Think Kerry but more boring and uninspiring) or Strickland (He will be 116 when he runs for President in 2016 - no thanks.) but I'm sorry.
This is THE ticket.
